Meet Staci Miron, owner of Sonshine Companion Care
Managing independence with meaningful involvement
Staci Miron started Sonshine Companion Care in 2009 so seniors in Pensacola could stay independent at home, and their families could rest easier. We provide non-medical in-home care, and you deal with one local owner, not a call center.
Our story
Why Staci started Sonshine
Staci grew up close to her paternal grandparents, who came to the US from Malta. Through them she learned how strong and capable older Americans are.
That respect is why she started Sonshine. A senior who needs a hand still runs their own life, and the people helping should act like it.
From the ice to the studio
Staci coached figure skating for 37 years. Today she paints, works in ceramics and teaches art to seniors.

How we care for your parent at home
Sonshine provides non-medical care: company, meals, errands, rides, housekeeping and medication reminders. We don't provide nursing or medical care. We manage independence with meaningful involvement, so your parent stays in charge of their day.
A plan built around the person
Every client gets a customized care plan. That means their history, their preferences, their favorite foods and the habits they've kept for a lifetime.
The same care provider
Where we can, the same care provider comes each time, so your parent builds a relationship and doesn't meet a rotating cast.
Care for dementia
Care providers keep communication calm and simple, keep routines consistent and keep the home safe.
Meaningful activities
One-to-one activities such as music, photo albums and light walks.
Licensed, bonded and insured
Sonshine holds AHCA License #231700 and is bonded and insured. AHCA is Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration.
Our care providers are independent contractors. They complete AHCA-required screening and dementia training.
